Who am I?
My name is Luke Stillman and I love videogames. I tried to eat, sleep and bathe in them. The stitches come out next week.
What qualifies me to talk about videogames? I have given up all semblance of a social life, dignity and what passes for personal hygiene in the pursuit of games knowledge so that you don’t have to. Your friends, family and significant others will thank you for reading this site instead of walking my road. In addition, the internet is a vast wasteland of crap so nobody will notice me curled up in the corner like a feral child.
What is Backhand of Justice?
Backhand of Justice is a repository of my thoughts and comments on videogame news, current trends, the players and the industry in general. This site is representative of my opinions only and its aim is to provoke thoughtful discussion within the community.
Review Guidelines
Backhand of Justice contains reviews of games that I have been playing.
Reviews on this site aim to analyze what was well and poorly executed in a game as well as evaluate the quality of the experience. While they do render a verdict, it is designed to indicate whether a game is worth purchasing for fans of the genre, not to distill it into a convenient score out of 10. In addition, I try to stay away from serious spoilers.
I do not advertise on this site so the reviews are my opinions alone. In addition, while I have played Xbox360 games in the past, I do not currently own one so all multiplatform console game reviews will be from the PS3 version. Nintendo DS, PC and online game reviews will also appear on Backhand of Justice.
Can I use the content on my site / link to it?
Feel free to use any of the content from this site, as long as you don’t change it. I would appreciate a heads up in an email or comment if you’re going to take something so I can see how it was used and become part of whichever community was interested in my work.
Backhand of Justice? That’s a terrible name!
Where did the name come from? The Baldur’s Gate series of games has a character named Minsc whose wisdom knows no bounds. His adages include such classics as ‘Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, watch it! I’m huge.’ His hamster, Boo, the only miniature giant space hamster in existence, accompanies him everywhere. In addition, he implores the player to ‘feel the Backhand of Justice.’ And so I shall.

This site is designed to encourage discussion and hopefully some of the content is valuable or interesting to you. The best thing for me is if you respond to my posts or send me an email with your thoughts. Hopefully Backhand of Justice can be a conversation and not a monologue.
