Friday Links: Singing Bird Pistol Edition
I saw this story on these Singing Bird Pistols up for auction and I was like ‘ok that’s kind of cool, I guess.’ But I assumed it was some novelty piece for a collector. And then … they fired them. Holy shit – how did somebody build these without modern tools?

Friday Links: Photoshop Edition
The Photoshop Rap. This is almost as good as that rap about not stealing online media from a decade ago. Almost.

Friday Links: The Think Tank Edition
This short film is amusing, at least to me: The Think Tank. I hope this is actually how things work.

Friday Links: Ice Cream Edition
I have never been that into wine tasting. I just have no interest, despite my love of being pretentious. This, on the other hand – I could become a fan. That’s a 10.

Friday Links: Game of Thrones Edition
Game of Thrones is a great series of books, and the HBO series certainly has promise. The effects were even half decent for a TV show, and here’s a video showing the making of some of those. Good stuff.

Friday Links: Wingsuit Edition
I would love to see some statistics on the number of people who just wingsuit fly into the side of the cliff and explode. Or maybe this is actually totally safe and you’re in control. But I doubt it.

Friday Links: 3D Printing Edition
3D printing is coming – hopefully cheap enough to get it in the hands of consumer eventually – and it’s incredible what you can do with it. I don’t know about the strength of this thing but the moving parts is ridiculous. I don’t even know how it really works.
I’d say keep reading, but honestly the summer slow months aren’t just in European businesses – it’s like the internet takes a break. The peak season sees 40-50 links per week, but we’d down to a paltry 15-20. Embarrassing. read more
Friday Links: The Man From Nowhere Edition
Holy fucking shit. All the time I see trailers for these Asian action films and for some reason they have the ability to make them look totally badass and then the films themselves never follow through on the promise. This one, on the other hand, looks like the real deal: the last scene from The Man from Nowhere. I have to find this thing. (Don’t watch if you have an issue with film violence … I’m looking at you Tipper Gore).

Friday Links: Interview Edition
Sometimes you just have to take all those ridiculous douche interview questions and answer them. If this man doesn’t get hired for some of these then I don’t know if anybody has a shot.
