Friday Links: I’m Zack Edition
This could be the greatest Bar Mitzvah video in the world. While part of me wants to ridicule this kid, part of me feels like his confidence and creativity will really take him far in life. Especially if he wears his cool hat everywhere.
Keep reading for Japanese footage, Valve + Doug Church = BOSS and first person Mario.

Interesting
First person Mario. Their idea to potentially make you look to the side and see the players through the other side of the TV screen is something they should do for the follow up.
Oh shits – Valve hires Doug Church. This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I can’t wait for the epic HL3 meets SS2 hybrid we’re going to get.
Tricky truck PC game and the video that shows a little bit about it. It’s surprisingly addictive. It’s super effective!
Funny
World of Ponycraft. This is an incredible video – this guy really needs to get on some more of these toute suite.

The mighty Zerg is terrible to behold.
Oh my god Portal 2 is going to be the best game of all time. Here is some demo footage from the recent PAX East and the dialogue alone makes it the game of the year.
Sorry, you don’t have enough cunning to wear this armor. I guess this is a bit of an odd thing in Dragon Age 2.
Mega64 gets down with Heavy Rain. They also create some of the more socially awkward situations in all of their videos – which is really the point of these in the first place. Well played.
The ten most disturbing Pokemon entrances in the Pokedex … some of these are a bit odd for a game for children – although I suppose everybody plays now.
I have brought great shame to my family
Kinect goes self aware. I didn’t know the FiOS guy also played Kinect. Who knew?

Interesting
Some people have a problem with publicizing images and videos from natural disasters. I’m not one of those people – I find things that I will likely never experience to be fascinating, especially when they’re abstract in a way that a natural disaster always is. Here are some videos of the effects in order from most to least ridiculous / difficult to believe. One Two Three Four. And some pictures of the aftermath.
Also – in case you were wondering what causes these earthquakes – here’s an internet rendition of what happens beneath the surface of the earth. Accuracy has been verified by a team of experts.
Adding insult to injury – apparently there is a volcano erupting in Japan somewhere as a result of the earthquake. Or at least exacerbated by it, as it was already doing something beforehand. (Yes … I’m very well informed)
Toccata on a mini guitar thingy. I don’t know what it’s called – unless that is the official name in which case I’m a genius.
The rotting supercar collection of the Sultan of Brunei. Ridiculous society over there, although I suppose it’s nice if you live there and you get a permanent annual donation from the government for being a citizen.

It's a shame to let these go to waste, Sultan (I call him Sulty) ... just ship them my way.
I didn’t even know sand dunes made these noises – the only desert I’ve been to is in Israel and it was mostly rocks. Still – interesting.
Real life recreation of the scene from Pixar’s Up. Really though – what’s the point. They could have taken the money they spent on this and given it to me. Much better use!
The world’s biggest holes? This is actually a video on Youtube? Is this number 6 in a series? What the shit. Whatever – some of this is interesting.
The Blues Clues guy has an epic bachelor pad. I wish I could buy this thing off him.
A brief history of title design. Very brief. Very title-y.
Funny
The sexy sax man recreation. You have to respect people that are willing to completely humiliate and demean themselves just in the name of comedy.
Cheating in high school – like a BAWS! By the guy who did that Disney food story. He is quite the raconteur.
The world’s greatest extra. I love the ‘legend says he’s in every film or TV show ever made.’ It’s the little things that make the difference.
I would wear this every day if I owned it. Hot.

I don't just like your stylish hat, but also your fur coat, Mr. Bender, sir.
The ’she’s too good for everyone’ song. I don’t know if it’s going to go platinum, but E for Effort.
If they had one of these at the gym everybody would be in better shape.
Is this funny? Apparently you should just build everything out of this super Japanese arch design, as it’s indestructible. Image from post earthquake, and post Hiroshima. Too soon?
Sometimes you just send the text to the wrong person. They can’t be held responsible for your mistake.
The unicorn bike. Fear it. Respect it.

Here's an alternate (and less cool) take on the unicorn bike.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost in a Star Wars scene recreation. This is at the bottom of the funny section so it will be closer to theĀ shame section. Consider it a hybrid.
I have brought great shame to my family
This is the most retarded Price is Right person in the world. Seriously – they should have run her over with the car she won because of this performance.
The real life Simpsons house. I suppose this is a good follow up from last week’s real life Simpsons opening credits.
There’s always that one guy at the wedding, isn’t there?

And for our next dance ... we do the creepy crab dance. BEHOLD!
You know it’s a bad sign if you go on a date and the guy has a crazy Star Wars themed theater. Back out before he’s wearing your skin like a suit!
Sometimes you just have to have a waterslide in your bedroom. For those quick early morning showers.
Border collie … you have miscalculated. You lose.
That’s all for this week. Did I miss anything? Hit up the comments!
