Friday Links: Niagara Edition
Zach Anner continues to show why he’s a comedic genius and really deserves that Oprah show. There’s no getting around the fact though: Oprah hates disabled people. How can nobody else see this. It’s the slogan to her show for god’s sake!
Keep reading for 3D building projections, The Oregon Trail film and Geocities Jeopardy.

Videogames pass email in total activity time spent online. That’s phase 1 … now the plan goes into phase 2: the death ray.
Dirt 2 was the best racing game in my opinion. The sequel looks like it will take the existing formula and build on it nicely.
I know … I know … I think Deus Ex is overrated. I have to admit though – some of these Deus Ex 3 concept art pictures look great. Too bad the game’s tagline is ‘human revolution.’ Really?

Apparently in the future everything is made of Gold. Thanks Deus Ex - can't wait!
Starcraft II propaganda posters can be fun. The US army should get some of these. I guess if there was some giant race of alien insects threatening the survival of the species, it would be easier to recruit volunteers.
Starcraft II in infographic form. Nice to be that Korean guy.
Interesting Starcraft II interview, although this doesn’t really have that much incredible new information.
Great art about the anatomy of a videogame controller. I doubt this is actually the case but I have to admit: I’ve never cracked one open.
Funny
Some of these voice clips for the Thor unit in Starcraft II are fairly rare and obscure, but you have to respect the way they went all out. The Thor knows what is best in life.

What is best in life?
Great video about how ridiculous an aimbot would be in real life. I love the bewildered expression on his face.
So it begins – the Starcraft season 2 commercials on Korean TV are gold.
I have brought great shame to my family
Mega Man fan art automatically goes into the shame section. It almost clawed its way out this time, however, because it’s just that damn badass.
Ha ha, sorry Alien Breed: Impact … you just got served. Better keep taking 50% off until you get to FREE.

These 3D building projection simulations are generally pretty cool – but this one is above and beyond the usual quality threshold.
Photo series that merges current photographs with photos in the same location from WWII. Nicely done, sir.
The original Dr. House audition – I like this … especially since they did it in a hotel bathroom. I would love to see what some of the other auditions were like – would be interesting to envision House as some other actor.

This should really have been the original audition
A history of photo editing. This is fascinating.
Fixing the leaning tower of Pisa is not the easiest thing in the world. If there’s anything the Italians know how to do, however, it’s uh … construction? Ok, so maybe this was a fluke.
Not all Parkour videos have to be ‘cool.’ They can also be playful. I guess the music helps.
Russia has some odd photo competitions. Still – you have to respect the way people went all out trying to fulfill the requirements.
Ah the good old science demonstration standby – the sulfur hexafluoride boat.
Analysis of cinema candy. The kid on the front of the sour patch kids package was modeled on the creator’s son? It’s a sour patch kid … was he born in chernobyl?
Apparently the Lusitania was in fact transporting ammunition. Damn you Allies, I knew it was you all along!
Women find men dressed in red more sexually attractive. Maybe this is why I wear my red onesie everywhere? Screw you haters … I knew I’d have the last laugh!
Funny
This sweet ass 2001 Ford Taurus is going to sell like hot cakes. Or … hot cake.
The trailer for the Oregon Trail is incredible. They really need to make this into a full length feature film.
It’s great that when in character, Stephen Colbert can do whatever the fuck he wants, and nobody can really be offended. It’s nice that he has a level of credibility that Ali G for example never had.
Once again – why are fireworks illegal in the US? It’s not like anybody ever does anything stupid with them, right?
Superhero wedding photos – I was shot down but this guy got to live the dream.
Will Ferrell’s tour of technology that should exist, but sadly doesn’t.

Will Ferrell apparently *does* have a time machine, however. How else would he get this snazzy outfit?
I have brought great shame to my family
This is not 1996, or one of those ’saved internet pages from the past.’ This is the current Jeopardy ticket website. Keeping the dream of Geocities alive, one animated .gif at a time.
The fact that this was linked by 6 or 8 sites in my RSS feed this week shows just how large the internet obsession is with kittens. Le fail.
I know scientists don’t get paid that much … but ‘animals are dying in Chernobyl’ really took a study? Somebody was really stretching for a thesis.
Oh those Japanese … you so crazy! Actually this catch is fairly impressive. Too bad if something isn’t interesting or funny it gets sent to the reject pile.
I don’t really know how funny this is. I just know that any clip involving both Shatner and Nimoy has to be worth a shot. If I were Shatner I would go Andy Kaufman on everybody and spend the rest of my life in character as the Priceline Negotiator guy.
Goodbye, Google Wave. We hardly knew ye.
That’s all for this week. Did I miss anything? Hit up the comments!
