Friday Links: Raptacular Edition
Anybody who knows me would know that I love old school action films. We’re talking about the Terminator / Commando / Robocop generation of action films. I didn’t really think the films themselves could be improved upon. But then they get their Rap tributes. Some sort of Rap Opera, or Rapsploitation. I approve.

Crazy timeline paintings. Ridiculous detail in some of these.
10 game of the 1990’s that have aged well. Once again, this is an author who clearly hasn’t played these games in a while. Guess what: they’re all shit now ex-nostalgia.
Super Mario Galaxy’s idea came from Miyamoto looking at a hamster ball. This man is a genius. He literally sits in his apartment and comes up with crazy shit just by looking at everyday stuff.
Natural Selection 2 mod video. Mod teams are impressive but this is taking it to a whole different level. Kind of like the Black Mesa Mod team except you know … this product exists.
A rumor that could potentially derail one of my 10 predictions for this year: did Miyamoto say Nintendo is working on new hardware? We’ll see if they announce it.
Is the new Deus Ex game going to be called ‘human revolution?’ Sounds about right for pretentious cyberpunk TRASH. You heard me, foolish Deus Ex fans.

Human Revolutions? The only thing stupider than that name is the original Deus Ex
World of Warcraft has had no growth since 2008!!!!!! OH NOES, it’s FINISHED!
Old NES and games sell for $13k because one of them is a rare collector’s edition. Just like how my gulf war hero cards will someday be worth millions.
The creation of Thane for Mass Effect 2. I love these art studies.
Funny
This post written by the father of a Game Informer writer is absolutely hilarious. One of my favorite things from this week.
The 25 worst videogame stock photos. This is so epic, although we really can’t have a great image in the general community because of these.
Team Roomba gets me every time with these TF2 griefing videos. Sure, it might start a little slow, but becomes epic about 2/3 of the way through with Team Fortress Trivia.
General Knoxx from the new Borderlands expansion is on Twitter. I hope he’s this good in -game.
I have brought great shame to my family
DOOM babies. Hopefully they’re coming in plushie form.

Where do you buy a plushie Cacodemon? I would love to own one
The original Sonic the Hedgehog 4 … while they might be making an updated one, this will always be the one dear to my heart.
A new Tony Hawk is coming. Repent, sinners!

Dazzle camouflage. This is epic – it’s like the new digital camouflage the army uses, doesn’t really make sense but I’m sure they have a team of scientists somewhere.

Who was the one who figured out this shit worked? I would hardly say it's intuitive
The 19 craziest and most dangerous roads in the world. Some of these don’t look so bad. Some, on the other hand, are death traps.
Biological clock. I have no way to judge whether this is accurate, but if so that’s pretty cool.
This has that photoshop hoax feel to it but if so they did a good job with the close-up pictures. I want it to be real, and if it is … epic.
Lux render engine – this thing is incredible … totally free, professional grade rendering engine. Now if only I had a 3D modeling program and texture painting abilities.
Funny
These ski signs are so very accurate. There need to be entrance exams for different lifts.
Batman is a weirdo pervert. This might just be an analysis, but it’s a movie I’d pay to see. As long as Michael Keaton is in it.
I’m not a huge fan of macs in general. Not because they’re not useful, but because they don’t have much game support. What they do have, however, is the genie effect.
The Toronto Raptor devours a cheerleader. This was actually pretty impressive … he walked away pretty easily.

The Toronto Raptor has gained a lot of weight since his dunking days
I have brought great shame to my family
Ah … ‘meat stylus.’ That sounds appealing.
Man was hurt on an amateur rocket sled he built in the backyard. Surprising. Those things are usually completely safe.
The 50 worst films of all time. While I agree that Batman and Robin was bad, was it really Ultraviolet bad, or Identity bad? I don’t think so. And what’s Street Fighter doing at number 27? Maybe if this was the 50 best films of all time …
Ninja turtles drawn in the style of various famous artists. Decent … could be better.

Which part of the beast is the stylus?
