Friday Links: Shark Pool EditionThe upcoming box office smash of 2011: Shark Pool. Get psyched. It’s almost sad that this seems like it could be a real movie in today’s pathetic landscape.

Keep reading for a truly presidential photo, dare to fight and the zombie safe house compilation 0f 2011.

Interesting

FreddieW does another very impressive trailer for Battlefield 4 on a professional film set. These things get more and more realistic looking every week. As always, the behind the scenes video is also worth a look.

Blizzard isn’t really going down the serious route for their DotA trailer. Still – I will be interested to see what IceFrog has up his sleeve.

Check out the crazy keyboard interactions of Losira a professional SC2 player. He isn’t even the best player but I can see how they all get RSD.

Funny

Uncharted 3 motion capture behind the scenes. I can’t wait to play this game.

I have brought great shame to my family

Richard Garriott serves NCSoft again. Eat it, tools.

Interesting

The zombie safe house competition of 2011. This is serious business.

Your standard zombie hideout is great for the zombie apocalypse. But there's not much natural light the rest of the time.

This Jumpman channel video would be far better if it was just Dwyane and Chris Paul crushing everybody.

Come on – give the big mascot guy a hug … They should combine this concept with that of the dare to fight video below.

Yet another step on my 2030 cars drive themselves timeline. HUD navigation system in the car. I can’t wait for this stuff to all be standard. Sounds like a great safety invention.

This SyFy (I still can’t believe they changed their name to that POS) prequel thing to Peter Pan looks interesting. I’d watch it if I had that channel, I’m not sure whether I do or not because all their other programming is dogshit.

A valuable lesson in life: never make too many penguin sweaters. This will serve you well in many situations.

Who knew a hot air balloon crash could be so harrowing?

Stamford has these vacuum cooling mechanisms that apparently make you a superhero. Or something. I didn’t read all the fine print.

Robots can ride bicycles now. That’s the second sign of the apocalypse. In November, 2011, Skynet became self aware.

Funny

Johnny Depp and Ricky Gervais. I love the way they’re both in on the joke. If you don’t remember the opening comments from the Golden Globes …

Dare to fight! Who in their right mind would actually fight a ninja though? They brought this on themselves.

FACT: Ninjas are mammals. Ninjas fight ALL THE TIME. The purpose of the ninja is to flip out and kill people.

Best cosplay – the Yip Yip aliens (I assume that’s the official name) from Sesame Street.

The Taiwanese animation of the Steve Jobs biography may be their best yet. I love the weird way their news can’t just be someone talking about the news – they have to have strange computer generated animations for it.

The San Francisco interim mayor has the greatest campaign video of all time. Too legit to quit.

The best costume ever … the giant baby thingy (TM).

I have brought great shame to my family

This is truly a presidential photo. Who likes short shorts?

Clinton's reaction upon seeing this photo.

Seriously? This is the iceberg that sank the Titanic? And they thought it was unsinkable? More like … un … floatable! See what I did there?

Wow – you have to get all your clothes from Cecilia Cassini. She sounds like the world’s foremost expert on fashion.

That’s all for this week. Did I miss anything? Hit up the comments!

  • What’s this all about?

My name is Luke Stillman and Backhand of Justice is my take on all things videogame. I've been inspecting ventilation shafts, liberating princesses and dying of dysentery since my first game in 1988. Stay a while and listen.
