Friday Links: Water Walking Edition
This video is incredible, and is a great viral ad for the shoes. I think more companies need to do this kind of thing. I already bought 6 pairs.
Keep reading for Russian paranoia, Admiral Ackbar puppets and soda, yo. SODA!

Electronic Arts: the WTF zone. Dubious Quality strikes again. JR, your days are numbered. Come on, make my yearly prediction right.
The Henry Hatsworth team is now doing another combo game. Instead of a puzzle platformer, however, this one is a pet sim platformer. This has now moved straight to the top of my ‘most anticipated game’ list.
The last man to play Halo 2 online. The internet shed a single tear. C-c-c-combo breaker!
Portal, the corporate training success video. Valve already made it free for the Mac. Free!
Funny
The Star Fox 64 promo video from Nintendo Power is epic. I never subscribed to Nintendo Power, but if I was aware that they had these videos that might have changed. I can’t tell if they’re aware that they’re joking or not. Or whether it’s some kind of meta-joke.

No Peppy ... it's not always the answer. Sometimes you need to do that stupid 180 turn too
Nerfnow has a good comic about Left4Dead2. I guess it might require some context if you aren’t familiar with the story of Left4Dead2.
Cosmo magazine with a WoW theme. Enter to learn 3 stances that will drive your boyfriend wild.
I think we need to make sure this becomes a meme. Meanwhile … at Valve. This is why Episode 3 is taking so long.
Hell is for Koopas. College Humor has been fairly video game heavy lately. They’re the Jimmy Fallon of the internet.
I have brought great shame to my family
Laser projector attached to iPhone for 360 degree gaming. This is one of those inventions that really didn’t need to happen.
Danica Patrick gives a tutorial on Activision’s Blur. She clearly has little idea what she’s talking about. Way to work the teleprompter, Danica.

Oh sweet god what have I gotten myself into? Press the Start button to pause? You fools are speaking gibberish

This guy loves soda. I don’t really like soda, but I think it would be interesting to visit this guy’s store. That is about the best endorsement I can give.
Tiny cannon that really works. It should only be used for the smallest of siege efforts. Perhaps beaver dams, or ant hills or something.
Abu Dhabi once again proves it’s the greatest place on earth.

Ok ... so the gold machine is the 2nd best thing about Abu Dhabi. How could I forget about you, spider-camel?
Great analysis on foul trouble in basketball games. I love articles such as these, basically saying ‘the conventional wisdom is stupid.’
I don’t know if I want to be doing whatever activity requires a helmet-cam that is fully armored and can survive massive impacts. Last I checked, the head it’s attached to lacks that full armor required for massive impact survival. At least you’ll go out in style and on tape.
Stop threatening people on Twitter. At least, if you don’t like pound me in the ass prison. Which last I checked, not many people do.
The Russians are worried about their space-based military efforts. ‘Who owns space, owns the world,’ was a real quote? Jesus, it’s getting weird over there.
Neil Gaiman justifies his $45k speaking fee in the best possible way. Oh Neil Gaiman, is there anything you can’t do?

This man was undeterred by the $45k speaking fee required to hire Neil Gaiman
Facebook’s gross national happiness index. Apparently people really like holidays. Am I alone in not being enamored with them?
Autonomous sliding parking. This fits into my concept of ‘people won’t be allowed to self-drive on highways in 30 years’ theory. Just far more badass.
CW Roberts employees demonstrate their plan for cleaning up the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Funny
Fake yo-yo trickster makes a fool of tons of local news stations. I don’t know if I could keep a straight face while doing this. I would certainly spend most of my time naming my made up moves.
How to make an Admiral Ackbar paper bag puppet. Staggeringly lifelike. It’s a trap!

IT'S A TRAP
6th grader plays a capella version of Paparazzi for his talent show. The girls in the background are unimpressed. What more do they want?!
The Total Recall musical, by Gilbert, Sullivan and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Star Wars fully retold in Lego. I think it helps that there are dozens of Star Wars themed Lego kits out there.
Arnold once again proves he’s the king of the quips. I need to start giving him honorary degrees so he can come speak at one of my events.
The AT-AT jungle gym. Go for the legs; it’s the only weakness!
I have brought great shame to my family
Stephen Hawking, continuing his consecutive week streak of crazy articles, gives instructions on how to build a time machine. I think Stephen Hawking is going on some Joaquin Phoenix-esque pretend crazy spree with all of the crap he’s been saying lately.
In my book this just means David Cameron is more qualified to be Prime Minister. He can probably whip a mean bank note at people and get stuff done.
Did anybody ever really believe this crap? Come on, you knew deep down you were fooling yourself.
Note to self: don’t black out in a strip club. This is how they get you.
That’s all for this week. Did I miss anything? Hit up the comments!
