I'm not saying Dante's Inferno is going to be phenomenal, and I'm not sure how committed I'm going to be to playing it. I'm just saying the criticism has gone from rational to bandwagon proportions. I just don't think innovation in gameplay is as important as everybody suggests, and there aren't a legion of fans of the divine comedy who are also God of War fans, so the notion that it's 'ruining a classic' is ludicrous. It just seems like mindless hack and slash with an unnecessary amount of hyperbolic volume. However, saying that, the moment I saw that picture of the whatever-the-shit-it-is boss you posted above, I've been psyched to give this one a go the moment it was announced. Mind you, it still might be hack and slash, but at least this time the setting makes it seem much more cooler. Also seconding that I don't give a shit about the divine comedy and don't mind that they were basically looking for a way to put "layers of hell" into a game. Looking forward to your review!
