Remember: Lists are only Opinions
As the end of the year (and decade) approaches, you’re going to start seeing a number of traditional end of year traditions: Christmas music, bum fights, and of course the endless ‘best of’ lists.
Time magazine just released their best games of 2009 list. From a glance at the list, we can conclude two things: 1) Activision paid a truckload of money to Time to get DJ Hero on this list in the #3 spot and 2) ‘best of’ lists are opinions (frequently bad ones) and nothing more.
Having said all that, I’m hard at work on next week’s year-end ‘best of 2009’ list including best (and worst) videogames, best muffin flavor, best southeast Asian dance and best town named Bismarck.
